Sophie Jackson was born and raised in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. From a young age, Sophie showed an aptitude for art, always drawing and painting whenever she had the chance. Her parents, recognizing her talent, enrolled her in art classes at the local community center.
As Sophie grew older, she became more and more serious about her art. She attended a high school for the arts, where she was able to focus on developing her skills. She took classes in a wide range of mediums, from painting and drawing to sculpture and ceramics.
After graduating from high school, Sophie knew that she wanted to pursue a career in art. She applied to several colleges and universities with strong art programs and was thrilled when she was accepted into the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston.

At SMFA, Sophie thrived. She took classes in everything from traditional painting and drawing to experimental installation art. She studied under some of the most respected artists in the Boston art scene and found her voice as an artist. She also participated in several group shows and even had a solo show at a local gallery.
After graduating from SMFA, Sophie decided to stay in Boston to continue her art career. She rented a small studio space in a converted warehouse in the South End and started working on her next series of paintings. She also began submitting her work to galleries and juried shows and was thrilled when she started to gain recognition.
Today, Sophie is a well-respected Boston-based artist. Her work has been featured in several exhibitions and has been purchased by private collectors and institutions. She continues to work in her studio in the South End, exploring new mediums and pushing the boundaries of what it means to be an artist in the 21st century.

Sophie Jackson is a contemporary artist based in New York City, known for her atmospheric and evocative paintings of urban landscapes and interiors. While Sophie draws inspiration from a variety of sources, her work is particularly influenced by the legacy of the American realist painter Edward Hopper.
Sophie first encountered Hopper's work when she was studying art history in college. She was struck by the stark and haunting beauty of his paintings, which capture the isolation and alienation of modern life. She was particularly drawn to his use of light and shadow, which creates a sense of drama and tension in his works.
As Sophie began to develop her own style as an artist, she found herself returning to Hopper's work again and again for inspiration. She was drawn to the way he captured the mood and atmosphere of a particular moment in time, and she began to experiment with ways to achieve a similar effect in her own paintings.
Sophie's paintings often depict urban scenes, such as empty streets, lonely diners, and abandoned buildings, that are reminiscent of Hopper's work. She also shares his fascination with the interplay between light and shadow, and she uses color and contrast to create a sense of drama and tension in her paintings.
Despite her admiration for Hopper's work, Sophie is also determined to forge her own path as an artist. She is constantly experimenting with new techniques and styles, and she is not afraid to take risks and push the boundaries of what is expected in contemporary art. Nevertheless, Hopper's legacy remains a touchstone for her, a reminder of the power of art to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us.
